We're Committed to Keep the Environment Safe
100% environmentally friendly, our products are manufactured locally utilising naturally occurring and recycled products. The production of ‘Eco Roads’ requires no ‘hot’ processes and boasts a negligible carbon footprint.

Sustainability Keys
⚈ Use of recycled/waste products – PHF and PRS heavily utilise waste or recycled products in their manufacture.
⚈ Sustainable engineering products are manufactured in Australia utilising locally sourced materials, so building the local economy.
⚈ Manufactured and installed ‘cold’, utilising recycled/waste materials hence they have a negligible, if not zero carbon footprint.
⚈ Manufacture and use of Sustainable Engineering products follow the 1st rule of WHS – avoid the risk. By utilising ‘cold’ processes the traditional high risks associated with the pavement industry from ‘hot’ products are avoided.
⚈ The quality of the ‘working’ experience is greatly improved for individuals/crews assigned to repair and maintain roads/pavements.
⚈ Return on Investment (ROI) is significantly enhanced for asset owners by utilising our products and methodologies.
⚈ End users have rapid access to well maintained, high quality and safer roads, airfields, carparks, driveways, etc. This improves their business efficiencies and effectiveness as well as quality of life.
⚈ Creation of employment in ‘Regional’ areas.

The concept of ‘sustainability’ is a relatively new philosophy which has been building gradually over many years and seeks to embody a holistic approach to human intervention in the world in which we inhabit in order to continuously improve our environment, ecology, quality of life, quality of experience and interaction, overall cost benefit returns from projects and other activities in a holistic framework.

This framework embraces and includes, but is not limited to:
⚈ Environmental impacts.
⚈ HSE impacts.
⚈ TQM (Total Quality Management).
⚈ Quality of work.
⚈ Quality of life.
⚈ PotHole fix will not leech hazardous materials into the environment SDS confirms Pothole fix is NOT classified as a hazardous, according to safe work Australia.

PotHole Fix is most clearly a ‘Sustainable’ product for many reasons including but not limited to:
⚈ Manufactured and applied cold hence effective zero carbon footprint.
⚈ Manufactured and applied cold hence Avoids HSE risk associated with manufacture and application of ‘hot’ products.
⚈ Installation time is minimised to one easy step hence minimising exposure to traffic and other hazards during installation.
⚈ One step, permanent fix for pot holes or other dangerous openings in pavements in wet or dry conditions improves general public safety and comfort, hence quality of life.
⚈ Ease of installation and workability improves the working experience of those installing it.

Pothole Fix

Pothole Fix – Why is it Important?
Pothole Repair is now a critical topic for asset owners and users alike. On road networks typical damage from pothole impact ranges from a poor ‘ride’ for the motorist and passengers, through misalignment of steering and loss of wheel balance, damage to tyres, rims and even suspension components. orse, in severe cases pothole impact can lead to a motor vehicle accident potentially resulting in injury or even worse. Liability associated with potholes and other pavement defects for asset owners including Roads Authorities, Motorway owners/operators and Local Government bodies has increased over time....

Pothole Fix Solutions from Sustainable Engineering
We utilise patented ‘one step’ technology embodied in our PotHole Fix product to effect speedy, safe and highly effective permanent repairs to potholes and other open defects or excavations in road pavements. Pothole Fix forms a chemical bond with the underlying material, effectively anchoring it in place. PotHole Fix may be installed rapidly by a 1 or 2 person crew (with appropriate traffic control in place) in one step and compacted by hand ‘tamping', plate compactor or roller to effect a quick, permanent repair in wet or dry conditions. PotHole Fix is also a flexible product which can be scaled up to effect larger repairs and reinstatement.

Crack Seal

Why is it Important to seal cracks?
Sealing of cracks is a critical maintenance activity because it prevents the entry of water, chemicals and other non compressible substances such as dirt, rocks, weed growth, etc. The entry of all of these materials into cracks accelerates the rate of failure of the pavement. Traditional crack sealing products require heating prior to application in order to turn them into a liquid for filling of the crack. The requirement for heating engenders cost for specialised and complex equipment, specialised training and work processes; and HSE risks. Traditional crack sealing products also require significant ...preparation works which include activities such as ‘routing’ (or widening the opening of the crack via mechanical means) prior to application. our ‘Crack Seal’ product is a liquid at ambient temperatures. It requires only that the cracks be cleared of deleterious material by high pressure air. It is important to note that left unsealed, cracking will eventually lead to complete failure of large areas of pavement. These areas will then require expensive heavy patching as a minimum response to fix them.

How ‘Crack Seal’ Works
The section of pavement under repair is thoroughly cleaned by suction sweeping or high volume ‘blowers’. The cracks are then ‘blown’ free of debris using compressed air. Following this the liquid Crack Seal is poured into the cracks. Finally, excess sealer is ‘scraped’ flush with the surface each side of the crack. ‘Crack Seal’ provides a permanent seal and may be used in combination with PotHole Fix and PRS to cost effectively and sustainably remediate large sections of pavement.

Pavement Rejuvenation

Understanding why asphalt pavements breakdown provides valuable insights into the development of products and maintenance protocols for maintaining the pavement and consequently prolonging pavement life.
One of the common culprits of premature aging in asphalt pavements is ultraviolet (UV) light. UV light damages molecules (via ‘oxidation’) that provide elasticity and hence flexibility in the pavement. When enough flexibility has been lost due to this damage then small ‘cracks’ (‘microcracking’) begin to form in the ‘mat’. As traffic and UV light progress this damage, microcracks give way to larger cracks, eventually permitting water ... to penetrate the mat and soften the structural base supporting the mat. In this way, potholes and other forms of pavement deterioration can occur. The use of ‘surface treatments’ which provide a protective coating to the surface of the pavement is an accepted raditional practice for achieving longevity with flexible pavements. Traditional treatments have either been ‘coal tar’ based (which has been recognised as being highly toxic in modern times) or emulsion (water) based. The problem with emulsion treatments is that they do not bond with the underlying pavement and consequently wear/weather away relatively quickly.

The perfect solution for Protection and Rejuvenation
Pavement Rejuvenation Seal (PRS) seals, protects and rejuvenates flexible pavements. Unlike emulsion type coatings, PRS penetrates beneath the surface of the mat and bonds with the underlying asphalt through copolymer bonds (chemical anchors). PRS effectively doubles the expected life span of new asphalt if applied shortly after the new asphalt is placed. When applied to an existing weathered pavement, PRS seals in the stones and rejuvenates he aged binder; improving and preserving the pavement. PRS may also be applied to compacted earth or compacted engineered granular material to provide a rapid and durable seal and 'wearing course'.

Features and Benefits
⚈ Replaces hydrocarbons lost due to oxidation
⚈ Seals against UV and contaminants
⚈ Revitalizes the asphalt binder
⚈ Restores flexibility
